Free Medical Aid Program For Accident Victims.
Accidents of any nature, need timely medical aid. If this is
not given, there are chances that the victim might even lose
his or her life. With an aim to extend timely help to accident
victims, the Society for Social Human Service has set
up Accident Relief Counters in Cochin and Kottayam.
The members of this organisation usually assist nurses while
giving treatment to accident victims and inform the victim's
relatives. Taxi charge is given to those who bring accident
victims to the hospital without relatives. Arrangements are
made to purchase medicines and provide food for the needy and
poor victims. The counter has arranged for private hospitals
in Kottayam District to give free treatment for accident
victims. They aim to open an Accident Relief Committe in evey
district of Kerala. The President and the founder of this society
is S.Vijayan Pillai.
The organisation further conducts awareness camps to educate
the public on the importance of getting accident victims to
the nearest hospital as early as possible, as it will help avoid
many deaths and other difficulties. To encourage the general
masses help the accident victims reach the hospital, Accident
Relief Counter reimburses the expenses involved. It also gives
