Malayalam Movies known for their
depth in story content have always impressed the international
audience. Yet again, they go international as the film Arimpara
(The Wart) was one of India's official entries in the 56th
Cannes International Film Festival.
Arimpara is a celebrated short story by well-known writer
O.V Vijayan.
The film gained entry in the prestigious "Un certain
Regard Section', sources at the National Film Development
Corporation (NFDC).
The Film is directed by Murali Nair, whose Marana Simhasanam
(Throne of Death) had won the Camera d'Or award at the Cannes
in 1999.
