Kochi to host the 71st annual
conference of Association of Surgeons of India
The city will host the 71st annual conference of Association of Surgeons of India (ASI). It is being held at Hotel Le Meridian, from December 25 to 30.
More than 5,000 surgeons from across the country will participate in the event. There will also be delegates from the UK, the US, Europe, Australia, South East Asia and South Africa at the meet. The sessions will be addressed by a number of faculties from hospital across the world, including researchers, teachers and technical experts.
Kerala will be hosting this mega annual event of the 25,000-member strong Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) for the second time. It is being jointly organized by the Kerala chapter of the ASI and the Cochin Surgical Society. The theme of the meet is 'Surgery Sans Frontiers.'
Several original research papers will be presented, at the conference, and young investigators in the field of surgery will be presented awards. There will also be an exhibition on advanced diagnostic equipment and innovations in the field of surgical procedures. A preconference workshop, covering most of basic and advanced surgical procedures performed by experts, will be held on December 25. On the next day
There will also be a series of medical education lectures. The rest of the days will see 9 concurrent academic and scientific sessions based on different organ systems and diseases.
